I am passionate about Hindustani Classical Music and very interested by the evolution of music through history, especially in the subcontinent. I also enjoy studying the life and times of legendary musicians and their gurus. I have a keen interest in the craft of instrument making, in particular of the sitar.

I play the Sarod primarily in the style of the legendary Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, who was my original inspiration and teacher. I have also imbibed influences from the Imdadkhani/ Etawah school of Sitar playing. I commenced music training at the age of five, moving to advanced vocal training in the ancient city of Varanasi.
At present, I am learning the Shahjahanpur style of sarod via the Sitar virtuoso. Pt Sugato Nag (a senior disciple of Pt. Buddhadeb Dasgupta), and also receives guidance from the Sitar maestro, Ustad Shahid Parvez. |

I am a student of Kathak, a North Indian classical dance which is closely linked with the music of the subcontinent. This, as well as time spent living and travelling in India, inpires me to learn more and experience more of Hindustani Classical Music.
